Moh R. Amer

Dr. Amer serves as the co-director of the Center of Excellence for Green Nanotechnologies (CEGN) at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). Dr. Amer obtained in Ph.D. from the University of Southern California in 2014. He holds an associate research professor appointment at King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology and a senior research scientist at UCLA. He is the recipient of the 2016 Arab-American Frontiers fellowship sponsored by the U.S. National Academy of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine. In 2018 along with his collaborators, Dr. Amer demonstrated the first non-invasive highly sensitive glucose sensor which implements tears and sweat instead of blood. His current research focuses on electronic and photonic devices using low dimensional materials for different applications including thermal management, energy harvesting, energy generation, communications, and biomedical applications. In 2020, Dr. Amer participated in Science 20 (S20) summit, where he coordinated and assisted in drafting circular economy recommendations of world scientists to G20 world leaders. Dr. Amer has authored and co-authored many scientific papers in prestigious journals. He is currently a member of many honor and professional societies. He serves as a peer reviewer for a wide range of scientific journals.
