Igor Sokolov

1991 PhD from D.I. Mendeleev Institute for Metrology (Russian NIST), Russia. In 1992, he was the recipient of E.L. Ginzton International Fellowship Award from Stanford University for his work on atomic force microscopy. Sokolov worked as research associate at the University of Toronto before moving to Clarkson University in 2000, where he achieved the title of professor and served as director of the Nanoengineering and Biotechnology Laboratories Center. Since 2013 he is professor of Mechanical and Biomedical Engineering and Bernard Gordon Senior Faculty Fellow at Tufts University. Sokolov has more than 150 refereed publications and holds 20 patents (issued and pending). Research interests are in nanoengineering for health.
